Roy - Written by Mrs. Ruth Holdsworth

I sit at the table at mealtimes.
My eyes always glance at that chair
As I remember with tears in my eyes
Where Roy always sat in his chair

I sit in the lounge with my knitting
It helps pass the long hours away.
It's cozy and warm and comfy,
So I'm quite contented to stay.

The nurses and carers are lovely,
So kind in every way.
Always willing, always cheerful
No matter what time of day.

There are so many friendly faces
Forever with a smile.
Others sadly wander round and round
Why not sit and rest a-while?

Soon back to my daughter's home I will go
To her always loving care.
I do hope they enjoyed being away for a break
They deserve it that is true.

If ever they need another one
I'll be glad to come back to you.

Ty Mawr Nursing Home

"Placing a loved one in a Care Home is a very difficult 'milestone' in ones life, but the staff at Ty Mawr made it all so easy and since my very first visit I knew this was the place I wanted my Mum to live. Her room has her own furniture, ornaments and pictures and her condition has definitely improved since moving to Ty Mawr, as her care is absolutely first class. The Home is comfortable and clean, it has a wonderful atmosphere and there is always plenty of food and drink available for the residents. I cannot thank the staff enough for the way they look after my Mum, they are the kindest, most caring and hard working people I have ever met. They treat all the residents with dignity and civility and I know that I could not look after my Mum the way they look after her. The staff also care about the relatives, and I have experienced such kindness when they could tell I was 'having a tough time'. If you have the unenviable task of choosing a Care Home for a relative, you must give Ty Mawr serious consideration." - Sallyann Lewis (Daughter of Resident/Service User)

Thank YouWritten by Clare (The granddaughter of a resident)

Ty Mawr has been a special place, full of love
Happy place, a peaceful place, blessed from above
Adoring staff who work so hard, have always been there
Nothing too much trouble and always show they care
Kindness in abundance, you always took the time

You always stopped to listen, your patience was sublime
Over the years, my grandmother placed her trust in you
Upon her behalf and family, I spell out a big thank-you.

"I am writing on behalf of the family our late uncle, to thank the staff of Ty Mawr Nursing Home for the care he received.

Our uncle became a resident at the Home in April of this year, initially on respite care, due to the problems with his eyesight. During the course of his stay, his health deteriorated and he became a permanent resident in July 2018.

From the first moment he arrived, the care he received was exemplary. He was always treated with kindness and staff went that 'extra mile' to help him.

The nursing staff were always on top of any medical problem, with the Clinical Lead Nurse, leading the way. The nursing staff were always willing to take in to consideration any requests the family made regarding his health.

The Carers always treated him with respect and always had a laugh and a joke with him which he enjoyed.

The kindness did not stop at the nursing and caring, but extended down to the kitchen staff, who made every effort to make food that he liked and to help 'build him up' and on to even the domestic staff.

It meant a great deal to us as a family to know that he was in safe hands, and that we too were also made to feel welcome.

We would be grateful if you could convey our sincere thanks to all the staff for his care and to wish them well for the future"
